Starting a healthy lifestyle!

The process of starting a healthy lifestyle is never easy, and we often question how we will do it, when we will do it and if we should do it. These questions tend to be the reason behind why we never start or why we don’t stick to it. Lots of people will assume that if you are starting a healthy lifestyle and diet it means your loosing weight, thats not true. A healthy diet and lifestyle means exactly what it says, it is there to keep you HEALTHY.

The first step in starting a healthy lifestyle, has to be the question: What is your aim and goal? This could be simply that you want to be more healthy, or it may be more specific like, you want to stop eating food that are high in salts and/or sugars. This is entirely up to you.

The next step is the one that tends to take some time, because we overthink it. This step is how we will start the lifestyle and what actions we will put in place to make it work. Most people look at cutting down on certain foods, or adding more fruit and veg into their diet, or picking out what forms of exercise they will do each day. Personally I wasn’t worried about the diet part of living a healthy lifestyle, as I bought a recipe book that only includes healthy recipes as well as the calories intake that you get from them. The whole fitness part I established around my average day, these exercises included taking long walks, runs, bike rides and swimming. I will go into more detail on this section in a later post. But remember if you write down your plan your already completed your goal by 40%.

The next step is actually starting that healthy lifestyle. The truth is, if you overthink everything and you spend a lot of time coming up with new creative ideas then your chances of starting this lifestyle and sticking to it become very slim.

Most people would see the starting the lifestyle step as final, but its not. I find that looking over your progress and sharing what you learned from the start of your new healthy lifestyle is the final part. When you look over your progress, you tend to get really satisfied especially if you reached your goal. Also by sharing your experience with others you will be able to maybe help them in changing their lifestyle, or you may just receive compliments that you look more healthy or that you seem more energised. Lets face it we all love compliments.

Im going to finish this by saying that I am no expert when it comes to healthy living or nutrition, and this is just what I did and worked for me. There is a lot more to say about each part, but that will be all done at a later date.

See you later my lovelies.
